Desi Fioravanti

Sergeant Desi Fioravanti serves as a Staff Representative to the Board of Trustees and is on his second term with the board. As a Sergeant for the Office of Campus Police Services, Desi serves as the Community Policing Sergeant and works to build a strong relationship with the campus community through outreach efforts and collaborative meetings. Desi strives to foster a great relationship with the police department and the Ewing Community as well. Additionally, Desi was a member of the TCNJ Board and Infrastructure Committee in his previous term as Staff Representative. Desi is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management & Technology. Desi serves The Office of Campus Police Services as the department’s Firearms Instructor, Armorer and also instructs at Mercer Police Academy, in addition to being an Active Shooter Instructor as well. Desi previously served the Police Benevolent Association #278 as Secretary for several years. Desi is a two time Helen Shaw Award Nominee and was also nominated for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Excellence in Policing Award for Community Policing. Prior to coming to TCNJ Desi served with Rider University’s Public Safety Department as a Corporal, and prior to that, Desi served with the Transportation Security Administration under the Department of Homeland Security, where he served on the TSA ready forward team (2012) and the TSA-PHL employee council (2013). Desi uses his previous experience working in a campus and general public setting to enhance community relations between the law enforcement and the campus community and surrounding area.
